What TierWise handles, why, and how to get it deleted. Last updated October 29, 2026.

Who we are

TierWise helps Shopify stores reward their best customers. We built it to hold as little customer data as it can, and we never sell or share it. We're a small team in the United States, and you can reach us at support@tierwise.io.

Who this policy covers

If you shop at a store that uses TierWise

The store decides to run a loyalty program and TierWise runs it for them. The data belongs to the store. TierWise handles it only on the store's behalf, and only to run that program.

What TierWise holds about youWhy
Your name and email, as the store has them in ShopifySo the store can see who its members are.
A summary of each order: its number, date, subtotal, discounts, shipping, tax, status and any discount codes usedYour tier is worked out from what you spent.
Your yearly spend, order count and tierCalculated from the orders above.
Reward codes issued to you, sent to you in a campaign, or brought over by the store from its previous program, and when they were usedSo a code is never issued twice, and shows on your Rewards page until used.
Gifts given with your orders, if the store gives themSo a gift is given once.
A tier the store gave you by hand, and until whenSo it lasts as long as the store chose.
Your birthday month, if you give it on the store's Rewards page. Never the day or yearSo the store can give you a birthday perk.
Birthday gifts sent to you, and the order they went onSo a gift is sent once a year.

TierWise does not hold your address, phone number, payment details or the products you bought. If the store sends you a birthday gift, TierWise reads your default address from Shopify at that moment to put it on the gift order, and does not keep it.

All of it comes from the store's Shopify account. TierWise does not collect anything from you directly, and does not track you on the store's website.

If your store installs TierWise

On top of the customer data above, TierWise holds:

Payments for TierWise go through Shopify. TierWise never sees your card or bank details.

How the data is used

Only to run the loyalty program: working out tiers, issuing reward codes, showing the store its members and results, and writing loyalty tags and fields back into the store's Shopify account.

Who else handles it

TierWise uses a small number of providers to run. They handle the data only to provide their service to TierWise.

ProviderWhat for
ShopifyWhere the data comes from, and where tags, fields and reward codes are written.
MongoDB AtlasThe database.
RenderThe server the app runs on.

These providers may store and process data in the United States. This list is updated when a provider changes.

If a store connects its own Klaviyo account, TierWise sends it the store's loyalty events and each member's email, tier, spend this year, distance to the next tier and reward, unused codes and join date. That data is then under the store's own Klaviyo account and agreement, not TierWise's. Nothing is sent to Klaviyo unless the store connects it. If a store sends its events on through Shopify Flow, that happens inside the store's own Shopify account.

If a store connects Claude, Anthropic's AI assistant, it can ask Claude questions about its loyalty program, and TierWise answers each question with the loyalty data it holds: member names and emails, tiers, spend, reward codes and campaign results. That data goes to Anthropic only when the store asks a question, under the store's own Claude account and agreement, not TierWise's. Claude can read the data and cannot change it. Nothing is sent to Anthropic unless the store makes a key, and removing the key stops it.

How long it is kept

Nothing in the store's own Shopify account is deleted by any of this. Tags, fields and discount codes already written there stay until the store removes them.

How it is protected

No system is perfectly secure. If a breach ever affects a store's data, the store will be told without delay.

Your choices and rights

Shoppers. To see, correct or delete what a store's loyalty program holds about you, ask the store you bought from. The store controls that data, and TierWise acts on its instruction. You can also write to support@tierwise.io and the request will be passed to the store.

Stores. Everything TierWise holds about a customer is visible on their page in the app, and the members list can be downloaded as a file. Uninstalling the app deletes your data as described above. To have it deleted sooner, write to us.

Depending on where you live, the law may give you further rights over your data, such as those in the GDPR in Europe or the CCPA in California. TierWise will help stores respond to any such request.
